Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best way to ship my flowers?
I will send you the step-by-step shipping instructions once booking is made.
Can you work with a bouquet that has already been dried?
Yes! I will be happy to work with any flowers that you have saved from your special day.
I’m having a destination wedding. Can you preserve my wedding flowers?
Unfortunately, it is not possible to ship flowers internationally. But I will be happy to source the same type of flowers for you and to preserve them and create a stunning artwork for your home. (Extra charges apply)
How do I care for my resin artwork?
Keep away from direct sunlight.
Do not submerge in water/liquid
Avoid all oils and chemicals (alcohol, acetone, etc)
Keep away from extreme heat
Do all resins yellow over time?
Unfortunately this is true, but I use high quality resins that add UV protectors to keep the resin from yellowing as quickly. It is also important to keep resin artwork out of direct sunlight.
Why don't you use fresh flowers?
Fresh flowers will rot inside epoxy resin. Resin doesn’t like moisture so anything imbedded in resin must be completely dry.
Is your booking fee refundable?
Sorry no. Your booking fee is not refundable. I have committed studio space for your project and turn down other clients after you claim your date. Depending on availability we may be able to offer to shift your deposit to another date if there is a lockdown on your wedding date (but only when there is an available slot).
Your booking fee covers your booking date and the preservation of your flowers. The booking fee excludes the courier fee to get the flowers shipped to us.
Is there a minimum order?
Yes. To commission any artwork made with your flowers a R1500 minimum order must be met with any combination of pieces you would like. (Contact me directly for down-payment options) A R650 non-refundable deposit is required to safe your date. The deposit will be applied to your preservation of your flowers. (Replacement of flowers not included)
What is a commission?
Anything you ask us to make with flowers.
Can you cast air dried flowers, silks, wood, sand or any memorabilia?
Yes, the process and prices are the same, but we will send different shipping instructions accordingly.
Do you accept returns?
I work extremely hard to ensure that each client is satisfied with my artwork. Please let me know immediately if for any reason you’re not satisfied with your piece and we will figure out an equitable solution for all parties involved.
Will my flowers look the same as they did at my wedding?
Preserved flowers will not look the same as the day of your wedding, but in its new form is will also be lovely.
Do you use all the flowers in my bouquet?
Your bouquet will have the best blooms of the day in it, but because of the wear throughout the day, we will be sure to only use the best blooms with the least amount of imperfections. It is important for us to have as many flowers as possible as all flowers do not ship or dry equally well. All varieties of flowers react differently to preservation process, but even the same type of lowers will retain their colors differently. After we dry them all, we pick the best ones for your keepsakes.
Some brides consider the wear from their wedding as sentimental. Other brides prefer to have pristine flowers for their keepsakes, and we have recommendations for that too.
Can all flowers be preserved?
Unfortunately no, but when you reserve your date you will be required to list your flowers, both color and variety, so I can help guide your expectations.
Succulents, berries and any juicy flowers cannot be preserved.
Will my flowers stay the same color?
It all depends on the flower. White and green are much the same.
Pinks, yellows and light blue or purple are vibrant and slightly deeper in shade.
White roses will show at least some wear.
Dark color flowers like wine red, deep blue and purple will properly dry much deeper.
Lilies and orchids are not guaranteed to dry their original color but I dry them and then aces if it can be used in the composition.
How long will it take to receive my collection?
From the time your flowers arrive at my studio it will take approximately 12 weeks to complete, but it all depends on the season. This is an estimate, not a guarantee.
Can my order be rushed?
Unfortunately no.
I will not be able to courier my flowers to you, will you be able to cast a keepsake for me?
Yes, I will be happy to source the same type of flowers for you and to preserve them and create a stunning artwork for your home. (Extra charges apply)
Notes
Your art pieces will be absolutely gorgeous, but we want you to know what to expect!
Flowers change colors.
It is important to note that if your florist plans to blow open your flowers (pedals are rolled back). They will not dry the most pleasing shape.
Very open and old roses are at the end of there lifespan and there is a good chance they will not make the journey well.
In this situation, I will be happy to source the same type of flowers for you and to preserve them and create a stunning artwork for your home. (Extra charges apply)
